Ellison Daily, Part 1 - Less Than 36 Hours to Make Our Future Happen

Dear Friend,

Our campaign has rounded the final stretch and the finish line is in sight! We feel great about our vital grassroots energy and extremely positive voter response – but IT'S NOT OVER YET. There are just two things left we need to do: VOLUNTEER and VOTE.

VOLUNTEER
As we bet you know by now, there are two more chances for you to put your enthusiasm for Keith and for our progressive future out there in the world:

1) TONIGHT – MIDNIGHT MADNESS!AMERICAN INDIAN CENTER, 1530 E. FRANKLIN. AVE., MINNEAPOLIS(at the corner of Bloomington)
Join hundreds of us as we make sure everyone in Minneapolis wakes up in the morning to a reminder to vote for Keith! Congresswoman Betty McCollum, Mayor R.T. Rybak and CD5's own Mark Ritchie, the DFL-endorsed candidate for Secretary of State, will be there to get us pumped!

2) TOMORROW – TAKE THE DAY OFF and GET OUT THE VOTE!
From 9:00 am– 8:00 pm tomorrow we will be running Get-Out-The-Vote operations from two centers:

Capri Theater
2027 W. Broadway, Minneapolis

American Indian Center1530 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis

We will make sure that ALL of our supporters, no matter what neighborhood or community they come from, have the chance to MAKE THEIR VOTE COUNT.

Why should we volunteer? Congresswoman Maxine Waters made it personal for us yesterday in a barnstorming rally at North High School: She's been traveling the country this year because she and her progressive colleagues NEED more strong voices, uncompromising values and bold visions in Congress in order to move our country toward the progressive future we must have. This is why she spent so much time in Connecticut this summer helping Ned Lamont defeat Joe Lieberman, because she saw in Ned just that kind of honest, forward-looking Democrat Washington needs.Congresswoman Waters told us how extremely pleased she was to come to the Fifth District yesterday to support a progressive, truth-talking, uncompromising Democrat in the tradition of Paul Wellstone. And she told us she supports, us, too, as we seize the historic opportunity to send Keith to Congress.

VOTE!
It's FINALLY time to VOTE! TOMORROW – September 12 – is the day we get express our fundamental right to choose our future. Don't let someone else choose your future for you – VOTE!

You may vote anytime between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm tomorrow. Remember: your employer is legally obligated to allow you to take one-half hour off work anytime before 12:00 noon in order to vote.

Not sure where to vote? It's easy to find out! You can check quickly online at http://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us. Or just call us at 612-522-4416 and we'll be happy to tell you.

If you're not registered to vote – because you've never voted before, you moved recently, or you've gotten "off paper" – YOU MAY REGISTER TO VOTE AT YOUR POLLING PLACE TOMORROW! It can be as easy as showing up at your polling place with state-issued ID that shows your current address!
