Meet the authors of Crashing The Gate!

Meet the authors of Crashing The Gate!

Jerome Armstrong, creator of the blog, and Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, creator of the blog, have authored the book "Crashing the Gate: Netroots, Grassroots, and the Rise of People-Powered Politics". They will be in the Twin Cities on May 2nd as part of their book tour.

Arise! Bookstore at 2441 Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis has a lunchtime book signing May 2nd from 12:00 to 1:30 PM.

There is a breakfast event at the Louisiana Cafe at 613 Selby Avenue in St. Paul May 3rd from 7-9 AM.

(Linda Goodspeed from the St. Paul J&S Bean Factory DFA Group organized these events)

The book focuses on the "new, nationwide, reform-minded progressive movement that is both populist and patriotic at heart and that is already changing the political, media, and activism landscapes in profound and long-lasting ways. This book tells that story." More information is available at Crashing The Gate website

New event: Drinking Liberally with Jerome and Markos: Tuesday, May 2nd from 6-8PM

Drinking Liberally is a progressive group that meets informally to discuss the latest in political events over a pitcher of beer. Some members are activists, some are political bloggers, and many just like a chance to talk to other people with the same political interests. DL has had libertarian and conservative members as well, and foisters an atmosphere of open discussion. Previous candidates who have attended Drinking Liberally meeting recently are Ford Bell, Amy Klobuchar, Sue Jeffers, Becky Lourey and Steve Kelley. DL belongs to no party, endorses no candidates, and really like their beer. If you have any questions, please direct them to: or visit: For more information on the venue, please go to:
